Each piece will never be the same as another, it will have its veins and shades of color, but precisely this will make it unique and wonderful.

Products are all hand-made one by one in the laboratories of Finale Ligure using natural stone, so they may also have slight differences in the dimensions indicated.

All stone products MUST NOT be used to heat food or soup in an oven or microwave and MUST NOT be washed in the dishwasher.

MARBLE CARE

Carrara marble is porous so you will have to be careful not to leave liquids such as wine, lemon, vinegar, oil, fruit juices, alcohol on marble objects for a long time, otherwise natural stone could be damaged . If you use products in the bathroom pay attention to creams, lotions or perfumes that contain oily or acid substances because they could mark the product. If the piece should get stained, you can try to remove the stain with Marseille soap and hot water but, if it does not work, we do not recommend other do-it-yourself methods.

On the other hand you don’t have to worry if the piece gets stained, small signs will add character and time to your product and will not prevent you from continuing to use it, on the contrary, they will give it a “lived” trait that for objects in natural stone it is fascinating. All natural stone products must not be put in the dishwasher but washed by hand. To keep the products clean, only neutral detergents and hot water must be used , the product should never be rubbed with stiff pads or sponges but with soft sponges, to avoid scratching the product.

After washing the product carefully you need to dry it with a cotton cloth. If the colour shows altered (a bit darker) don’t’worry, it’s normal: being the product made of natural stone the water (absorbed by the piece during the washing process) needs to dry naturally by evaporation: the product will return to its original colour in a short time

CARE OF THE LIGURIAN SLATE

If after several uses the Ardesia products should be slightly lighter and you want to brighten the deep black color or make less visible the slight lines that could have formed by the use of the object , just rub them with a cotton cloth greased with a little olive oil and let it penetrate well, then remove the excess product with a clean cotton cloth and wait for it to dry; at this point the Ardesia will be returned to its original color.
We recommend the use of olive oil and never of dye products for Ardesia, olive oil will allow you to place the food without any fear of contamination, which tith the use od dye products could happen.

For the daily cleaning of the Ardesia Ligure, you can also apply a practical do-it-yourself solution of which we give you the ingredients: mix warm water, alcohol (denatured ethyl alcohol) and bicarbonate and, if necessary, a few drops of Marseille liquid soap, dip a sponge in the solution and then rub gently. Be careful, however, not to exaggerate with the doses, because an excess of product could stain the Ardesia! The right doses are: a teaspoon of baking soda and a quarter of a glass of alcohol for every liter of water.
